On a bright summer day in June, employees came together for a midsummer celebration filled with flowers, shared moments and a relaxed summer atmosphere. The event celebrated both the Danish summer and the people behind the organisation – creating space for presence, play and connection in informal surroundings.
The process
The mission was to create a summer celebration with a clear midsummer atmosphere, bringing employees together across the organisation in informal and festive surroundings. The event was designed to celebrate both the Danish summer and the people behind the organisation – with flowers, outdoor elements and a relaxed setting focused on presence, community and appreciation.
Liwlig was responsible for the planning and execution of the summer event, transforming a parking area into a midsummer-inspired event space. A large tent, lounge areas, floral decorations and summer details set the scene, while garden games, street food stations and bars encouraged movement, play and informal interaction.
The programme combined live performances on stage with pop-up entertainment throughout the area, creating energy and smaller social gathering points. The long summer evening and outdoor setting supported the feeling of a Danish midsummer celebration and shared presence.
Liwlig managed the entire process – from concept development and visual identity to production, logistics, catering, entertainment and staffing.
The summer event brought together more than 900 employees for a vibrant midsummer evening with high engagement and a relaxed, joyful atmosphere. The combination of flowers, outdoor games, music and informal surroundings created a shared experience that strengthened connections across the organisation and left lasting memories.
The case demonstrates how an employee event can combine professional execution with strong social experiences – capturing the essence of a Danish summer.
From Banners To Bags
After the event, banners and materials were given a second life. They were sent to a Danish sewing workshop run by Ukrainian refugees, where they were transformed into tote bags. The bags were sold to employees, with all proceeds donated to humanitarian initiatives in Ukraine – connecting sustainability, community and care.
