Equinor: Celebrating 50 years

When celebrating 50 years, Equinor wanted to give back to their employees and together with 6.sans hosted a massive event for 15 000 employees.

The process

Equinor celebrated its 50th anniversary with a grand event spanning four weeks and involving 15,000 employees. In collaboration with 6.sans and George P. Johnson, a unique event concept was created, distributing the celebration across 17 different locations. This ensured that all employees had a consistent experience without needing to fly to a single venue. Sustainability was at the heart of this initiative, demonstrating how large events can be conducted with minimal environmental impact.

LIWLIG was responsible for all aspects of the creative phase, planning and execution.

Entertainment with Atle Pettersen and Show de la Vida

The entire anniversary celebration was hosted by the charismatic Atle Pettersen, who served as the master of ceremonies throughout all the events. With his enthusiasm and ability to engage the audience, he helped make each celebration unforgettable. Show de la Vida provided the entertainment, delivering spectacular and memorable performances for all attendees.

In addition to this, each destination featured a local artist who performed. These included Dagny, Jarle Bernoft, Emma Steinbakken, Janove and Tara Bloch.

Local Support and Economic Growth

Hosting the celebrations locally provided Equinor with a golden opportunity to support local communities and businesses. By using local artists, venues, and services, the company helped boost economic activity in the regions where the events took place. This initiative demonstrates how large companies can play a role in promoting sustainable practices and supporting the communities in which they operate.

Through these efforts, Equinor has shown how a grand celebration can be conducted with consideration for both the environment and local communities. The 50th anniversary is not only a celebration of the past but also a look forward to a more sustainable and inclusive future.

Unity and Sustainability Hand in Hand

By organizing the anniversary celebration locally, Equinor has made a conscious decision to reduce its carbon footprint. By avoiding flying all employees to a single destination, the company saves significant amounts of CO2 emissions. Instead of gathering everyone in one place, local events ensure that the celebration is accessible to all while creating opportunities to promote sustainability and economic growth in various regions.
